Choose one main visual feature

When both the wall and floor have very strong patterns, the interior can feel visually busy. A practical approach is to make either the wall or the flooring the main feature and keep the other surface calmer.

Compare warm and cool undertones

The warm or cool undertone of wood-look laminate can be coordinated with the wallpaper colour to create a more coherent interior. The colours do not need to be identical; compatible undertones are usually enough.

Balance the textures

If the wallpaper has a deep texture, a cleaner and quieter floor surface can balance it. With an expressive floor pattern such as herringbone, a simpler wall background helps preserve the rhythm of the room.

Compare samples under the same light

Wall and floor materials should ideally be evaluated in the same lighting rather than separately under different showroom lights. This makes undertones and texture differences easier to judge accurately.
